Australia PM: 'Russia must pay a heavy price'

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison confirmed on Sunday that his country would impose sanctions against Russian President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov over the Ukraine issue.

He made the remarks after he attended a service at a Ukrainian church in Sydney. Speaking to journalists outside the church, Morrison did not rule out providing lethal aid to Ukraine as it battles the invasion.

On Saturday, Australia imposed sanctions against all 339 members of the Russian parliament and on eight oligarchs close to Putin.
