Ukrainians fleeing war arrive in Poland

Some of the first refugees from Russia-attacked Ukraine arrived in European Union member Poland on Thursday by road and rail. A scheduled train from Kharkiv, east Ukraine, with a few hundred passengers on board arrived in the afternoon in the Polish town of Przemysl, near the border with Ukraine.

Alexander, Refugee from Kiev said "So I was getting a feeling that something is going to happen and I was lucky enough to get last tickets and it was couple of hours.

Officials said Poland has prepared at least eight centers with food, medical care and places to rest. Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said that “innocent people are being killed” in Ukraine and appealed to the Poles to extend every possible assistance to the Ukrainians who have found themselves in need of help.
