Social Welfare & Development Award: AOSWADA presented to MWAF

Myanmar Women's Affairs Federation was presented the ASEAN Outstanding Social Welfare and Development Award –AOSWADA during the 17th Senior Officials Meeting on Social Welfare and Development (SOMSWD) and related meetings that was organized by Thailand via video conference from 15th and 17th December 2021.

The awarding ceremony to Myanmar Women’s Affairs Federation was held at the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement by hybrid system on 14th Februray. At the event, Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Thet Thet Khine said that Myanmar is hosting ASEAN meetings in rotating and the ASEAN Women's Affairs Ministers' Meeting will be convened in 2024 and the ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Social Welfare and Development and related meetings will be hosted in 2025.

The Union Minister added that the rural women development project that was submitted for the awarding contest will benefit a lot for rural women and it also helps women development tasks that are being undertaken by the Department of Social Welfare of the Ministry. Then, a video clip on rural women development project that was submited for ASEAN excellent award was shown.
