Two people shot outside a high school in New York

A student and a security guard have been shot outside a school in Buffalo, New York. Police said the shooting happened around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday at McKinley High School. The shooting happened near the entrance to the school. A male student was hospitalized and needed surgery. The security guard's injury is not considered life threatening. School was dismissed for the day around 3:25 p.m. but about 100 students remained in the building for after school activities when the shooting occurred and the school was placed in lockdown.
