Artists in Lima have finalized a giant mural covering an entire neighborhood in the San Cristobal Hill in the Peruvian capital. Over nine months, designers painted each of the more than 1,000 houses to make a giant mural that can be seen across the city. They call it Project Rainbow.
The restoration and painting works were funded by the municipality of Lima and a private painting company. It aimed to refurbish the facades of houses for at least 10,000 residents. Hills in Lima, settled on an arid seaside, are composed mostly of desert sand. The 'Energy Color' artistic collective said they wanted to bring a new look to what is perceived as a dangerous area of Lima.
