The Biden administration is moving ahead with providing millions of dollars in additional economic assistance for Ukraine in concert with several allies. The development comes in the face of pressure caused by Russia's military buildup along Ukraine's border.

Last week, the U.S. signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the United Kingdom, Canada, Switzerland and Sweden to launch a Partnership Fund for a Resilient Ukraine. The U.S. plans to provide $10 million dollars through the aid agency over three years to bolster communities in eastern Ukraine to deal with the economic hardships.

State Department Spokesman stressed that "USAID has a expert in the country who's monitoring the situation closely, coordinating with other donors, assessing the evolving humanitarian needs of the Ukrainian people and liaising with partners to ensure that they are able to rapidly scale up assistance should the need arise."
