Dozens of multicolored hot air balloons took to the skies above the Chilean town of Peñaflor to the delight of tourists and locals alike. Some 400 raffle winners were able to take flights from more than 50,000 people who registered to it.

Only 20 of them were able to board a free flight, in which balloons are released to the wind. The rest were able to take a captive flight, in which balloons remain anchored, 50 meters above the ground.

The event, organized by the municipality, began on Friday and will run through the weekend. Those participating are also eligible for a special raffle, competing for free one-month training as a hot air balloon pilot.
