6 hurt in Louisiana plant explosion

An explosion Wednesday at a southwest Louisiana chemical plant has left at least six people with minor injuries. The explosion occurred at an empty ethylene dichloride storage tank.

Five injured people were taken to the hospitals and one was treated at the scene. The fire was extinguished shortly after the explosionbecause the storage tank was empty.A large plume of smoke was visible throughout the area. The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
