Nearly 10 million students returned to full time in-person classes in Colombia on Monday after nearly two years of disrupted attendance due to COVID-19 restrictions. At one school in the capital Bogota, children were seen enjoying in-person learning as they attended lessons with their masks on.

The COVID-19 vaccine is not a prerequisite for students to return to school in the country but the government has promoted vaccination by setting up immunization centers at school entrances. Children must have permission from their parents to be vaccinated.

The return to full time in-person classes took place in 46 areas of the country. Seventeen other zones began their return last week and it's estimated that by January 31, the remaining schools will do the same.
