Sotheby's auction house in New York predicts a painting of Jesus Christ by Sandro Botticelli will sell for upwards of 40 million USD next week.  Botticelli painted "Man of Sorrows" late in his career, around 1500 or 1505.  The painting has been in a private family collection since 1963.

Also at auction is "An Egyptian Limestone Figure of a Man," dating from around 2440-2355 B.C. Sotheby's expects to sell the sculpture in the neighborhood of 3 or 5 million dollars.   Another feature of next week's sale is the painting "Portrait of a Lady as Pomona," also known as "Marquise de Parabère" by Nicolas de Largillière.

Sotheby's is also auctioning 200 pairs of sneakers in varying sizes by recently-deceased designer Virgil Abloh. The auction house estimates they will sell between 5,000 USD and 15,000 USD each.
