COVID-19 Update: 128 New Cases Reported at 8 p.m. on January 20

The Ministry of Health reported 128 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Thursday after testing 10,104 lab specimens within 24 hours. One COVID-19 positive patient has died while 168 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 533,732 with 19,307 deaths and 511,798 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

The World’s worst-hit countries are United States of America with over 67.43 million confirmed cases followed by India, Brazil, The United Kingdom, France, Russian Federation, Turkey, Italy, Spain and Germany according to the World Health Organization. Globally, as of 4:42 p.m. Central European Time on January 20th, 2022, there have been over 336.79 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 5.56 million deaths, reported to WHO.

The Ministry of Health has given instructions for office/department staff and everyone’s active cooperation in following the COVID-19 preventive measures including reminders of staying safe and healthy during the pandemic.
