


US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Wednesday assured Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelenskyy of the US' commitment to Ukraine's "territorial integrity" amid ongoing fears of a potential Russian invasion. Blinken's hastily planned trip to Ukraine and Germany comes ahead of talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Geneva on Friday.
The Biden administration said it is providing an additional 200 million USD in defensive military aid to the country amid soaring fears of a Russian invasion. Russia has sent some 100,000 troops toward the Ukrainian border, and US officials said they believed Russia was capable of launching an attack.
Russia has brushed off calls to withdraw its troops by saying it has a right to deploy its forces wherever it likes on its own territory.
