Bank Robbery: The Robber Captured By Bank Staffs And People

The avaricious opportunists are committing robberies of some banks and gold shops using weapons sometimes fake weapons by exploiting the situation of lacking cooperation among the innocent people frightened due to the terror acts of blowing up and murdering committed by terrorists so-called PDF in some locations of the country at the moment.

Among such robberies, in the afternoon on 17th January, 2022, a robber who tried to rob UAB Bank in Latha Township, Yangon Region was captured by the duty conscious bank staffs with the help of the people with sense of obligation in a short time.

While Manager Daw Khin Cho Cho and 9 bank staffs of UAB Bank at the top of Strand road and 19th street, ward (3), Latha Township were carrying out the duties in the bank, one man entered into the bank, intimidated a security man with a gun and put over 7.9 million Kyats already being on the deposit/withdraw counter into his backpack and tried to leave the bank. When he got near the door of the bank, bank security man and people with sense of obligation could capture him in a short time.

When the security forces rushed to the scene and carried out investigation, the bank robber is identified as Tun Tun, resident at No (124), Phayagone (ဘုရားကုန်း) Village, Thanlyin Township, Yangon Region and arrested a plastic toy gun and over 7.9 million Kyats together with him. The robber will be charged in line with the law effectively, it’s reported.
