Activities of Bar Council: Bar Council of the Superme Court Meeting 1/2022

The Bar Council of the Superme Court held its meeting 1/2022 at the the Council office in Nay Pyi Taw in line with COVID-19 prevention guidelines, Monday.

It was attended by Chairperson of the Superme Court Bar Council, Union Minister for Legal Affairs and Union Attorney General Dr. Thida Oo, Vice-Chairman of Bar Council, Judge of the Union Supreme Court U Myo Thint and members. Union Attorney General Dr. Thida Oo discussed that the Bar Council Act was amended in line with the State Adminsitration Council Law No. 61/2021 dated on 28th October last year.

Accordingly, the Bar Council of the Superme Court was reformed. She also explained the responsibilties of members of the Bar Council and the functions of the Supreme Court. Accordingly, the Union Supreme Court has to scrutinize those complaint letters filed against those advocates and referred them to take necessary action.

Upholding the dignity, duties and privileges of the Bar Council, plenary sessions were held to make recommentations and take appropriate actions against the Supreme Court advocates for their violation of bar code of conduct.
