Covid-19 Prevention: Vaccination Programme Continues In Regions And States

Ministry of Health has been conducting the COVID-19 vaccination programme in Nay Pyi Taw Council area, regions and states for the disease prevention and control.

The programme continued in 12 townships in Shan State, 15 townships in Mon and Kayin states, 3 townships in Yangon Region, 26 townships in Ayeyawaddy Region, 6 townships in Rakhine State, 2 townships in Sagaing Region, 7 districts in Mandalay Region and 1 township in Bago Region.

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment. However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention. The Ministry of Health purchased millions of COVID-19 vaccines and also accepted millions donated by friendly countries. Also, one million units of vaccines donated by and purchased from Russia will arrive in Myanmar this month.
