Smart Village Project: Meeting on implementation of Smart Village project held

The coordination meeting on the implementation of Smart Village was held at the ministry of cooperatives and rural development on Tuesday. At the meeting, the Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe said that the Smart Village establishing project will be implemented to build up the villages having higher living standard and supporting green development with the visions to narrow the development gap between the urban and rural development.

The project will be extended to the regions and states. The cooperation is needed from the various developments to collaborate in relevant sector in the implementation of the project. Next, the permanent secretary of the ministry of cooperatives and rural development explained the implementation of project with the cooperation of digital and IT technologies by drawing 6 development phases including development tasks, providing inputs and monetary service, increment of village’s economy through the vocational development, solidity and strengthening of social institutions, technical transferring, environmental conservation including social protection.

Three villages from Pyinmana, Lewe and Tatkone townships of Nay Pyi Taw Council area will be implemented as pilot project. Then, the member of Nay Pyi Taw Council, director-generals from the departments discussed and gave suggestions regarding the Smart Village establishing project.
