Kathina Robe Offering: Chinese Embassy and Buddhist Association Offer Robes

The Chinese Embassy in Myanmar and the Myanmar-China Buddhist Association co-organized the Kathina robe offering ceremony in Yangon. Present at the occasion were 24 senior members of Sangha led by the Chairman of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Bhamo Monastery Presiding Sayadaw.

At the ceremony, the ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Chen Hai paid respects to the Sangha and explained the purpose of organizing this Kathina robe offering ceremony. The Ambassador emphasized that Buddhist culture plays an important role in Sino-Myanmar friendly relations, and hoped that the Sino-Myanmar kinship relation will deepen through this ceremony.

And he wished for being peaceful and prosperous of Myanmar and for the perpetuation of Sino-Myanmar friendship and cooperation. In his response, Bhamo Sayadaw said that Myanmar and China are the neighbouring countries which are inter-dependent and bringing mutual interest. There is a friendly relationship and frequent meetings on religious matter between the two countries. It will be beneficial for the relation between the two countries.
