

The State Administration Council’s 2021 Kathina robe offering ceremony was held Sunday morning in Sasana Beikman at the precinct of Uppadasanti Pagoda, Nay Pyi Taw.
The Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Commander in Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla attended the ceremony and presented Kathina robes and offertories.
Present were 18 members of the Sangha led by Ovadasariya Sayadaw of the Board of Trustees of Uppatasanti Pagoda, Presiding Nayaka) of Pauk Myaing Monastery in Lewe Township Nay Pyi Taw, Bhaddanta Jininda.
Also, present together with Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and wife were Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe, Members of the State Administration Council and their wife, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Union, Chairman of the State Constitutional Tribunal, Chairman of Union Election Commission, Union Ministers, Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council, Commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command and officials.
The Senior General and wife and the congregation observed the display of Kathina robes, donations, and offertory trees or Padethabins (tree-shaped stands where various kinds of offerings are hung) and offered oil lights, water and fruits and meals in the emerald alms-bowl to the Buddha Image in the hall. The congregation received the Five Precepts from Pauk Myaing Sayadaw and listened to the Paritta Suttas recited by the Sangha. Afterwards, the Chairman of the State Administration Council the Senior General and wife offered Kathina robes, offertories and alms to Pauk Myaing Sayadawgyi and Bhaddanta Vicchana presiding Sayadaw of Aung Si Than monastery which received the Kathina robe.
The Deputy Chairman of the State Administration Council Vice-Senior General and his wife offered Kathina robes and alms to Presiding Nayaka of Maha Thihanada Monastery Bhaddanta Acinna.
The SAC members and Chief Justice then offered Kathina robes and alms to the Sayadaws and Sanghas respectively. The SAC chairman and congregation listened to the sermon delivered by Pauk Myaing Sayadawgyi and shared the merits gained. At the State Administration Council’s 2021 Kathina robe offering ceremony, the donations included 42 offertory trees or Padethabins (tree-shaped stands where various kinds of offerings are hung) and cash donations worth over 97 million Kyats.
