US, Singapore renew bilateral training agreement

The U.S. and Singapore have renewed a bilateral training agreement, known as the Singapore-United States Third-Country Training Program (TCTP) Memorandum of Understanding.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and his Singaporean counterpart, Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan signed the renewal agreement. Blinken said that they had together trained more than 1500 government officials from countries in the region, working in areas like cyber security, health security, smart cities.

The updated agreement adds climate change and environmental sustainability to the list of issue areas that U.S. and Singaporean officials will add to the program.
