Donation Of Provisions: Rice, Cooking Oil And Beans Donated To The Sangha

The donation ceremony of rice, cooking oil and beans to the monasteries and nunneries in Zabuthiri and Dakkhinathiri Townships by the ministry of religious affairs and culture was held at Nan Oo Pariyatti Sarthintike in Zabuthiri Township in the morning on Tuesday.

Present at the occasion were three senior monks led by the chairman Sayadaw of Dakkhinathiri Township Sanghanayaka Committee presiding Sayadaw of Nyaung-Gone monastery Baddanta Pandita, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko, deputy minister U Aye Tun, permanent secretary U Myint Oo and officials.

At the ceremony, the union minister and officials observed five precepts administered by the chairman Sayadaw of Dakkhinathiri Township Sanghanayaka Committee presiding Sayadaw of Nyaung-Gone  monastery Baddanta Pandita  and listened to the Paritta Suttas recited by the Sangha. Next, the union minister reported religious matters, listened to the sermon delivered by the chairman Sayadaw of Zabuthiri Township Sanghanayaka Committee presiding Sayadaw of Ma-soe-yein Pariyatti Sarthintiak monastery Baddanta Aggadhamma  and shared merits gained.

 During the donation ceremony, 116 rice bags, 350 Viss of cooking oil and 46 bags of beans were donated to a total of 1080 monks and novices and 88 nuns including 784 monks and novices from 26 monasteries in Zabuthiri Township and 296 monks and novices and 88 nuns from 9 monasteries and one nunnery.
