COVID-19 Fight: Import of Medicines, Equipment and Medical Supplies

The Ministry of Commerce is making continuous efforts to ensure anti-COVID-19 medicines, equipment, and necessary medical supplies are being shipped from overseas by loosening restrictions to facilitate imports in collaboration with the relevant ministries and providing continuous import on a daily basis.

The ministry is also making diplomatic arrangements with China, Thailand, Bangladesh and India to import the medicines and equipment through the border trade points.

On Saturday, a total of 2,507 oxygen concentrators were imported through the Yangon International Airport, while 81 tonnes of liquid oxygen, 9 tonnes of oxygen cylinders, 8,422 empty oxygen containers, one oxygen plant, 4,090 household oxygen concentrators, 49,030 PPE suits and 67 tonnes of masks were imported through Muse, Myawady, Chinshwehaw Kanpitee and Tachilek border trade points.
