Covid-19 Report: 2,969 New Cases Reported At 8 P.M. On July 5

The Ministry of Health and Sports reported 2,969 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Monday after testing 11,024 lab specimens within 24 hours.

42 COVID-19 positive patients have died while 758 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 168,374 with 3,461 deaths and 139,473 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

The public’s cooperation is requested to address wearing masks when it comes to going outside, frequently washing hands and practicing social distancing to control the spread of COVID-19, the Ministry of Health and Sports has given instructions for office/department staff and everyone’s active cooperation in following the COVID-19 preventive measures including reminders of staying safe and healthy during the pandemic.

The World’s worst-hit countries are United States of America, India, Brazil, France, Russian Federation, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Argentina, Colombia and Italy, according to the World Health Organization. Globally, as of 5:54pm CEST, 5 July 2021, there have been over 183 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 3.97 deaths. 

Most people infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment. Older people and those with underlying medical problems are more likely to develop serious illness.
