
A drug cartel carrying a total of 1,500 kilograms of ICE (methamphetamine) was arrested near the Myanmar-India sea boundary, according to Myanmar Police Force.
While the Tatmataw (Navy) carrying out the security duty near the Myanmar-India sea boundary at 7:30 p.m. on June 27, they intercepted a mechanized boat named Thukha San. They quickly arrested Myo Min Htaik and 6 other men on board and seized 1,500 kilograms of drugs which are worth 37.5 billion Kyats.
According to the investigation, it’s revealed that the seized drugs were carried from Taunggoke Township, Rakhine State to the sea of Malaysia. The suspects have been arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law and the investigation is underway to reveal the chain of accomplices.
