Women Affairs: National Committee Holds Meeting 1/2021

Myanmar National Committee on Women held the meeting 1/2021 on Tuesday at the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement in Nay Pyi Taw.

In the meeting, Chairperson of the Committee Union Minister Dr. Thet Thet Khaing stressed the aim of the Committee which is to work for women’s development and the Committee’s tasks including enactment of laws, implementation of polices and work plans and cooperation with international communities.

She also said the Ministry with 250 Case managers has been giving Help Line service to report on violence against women, shelter, court costs and vocational training costs since 2016. In addition, One Stop Women Support centers were opened in Yangon, Mandalay, Mawlamyaing, Lashio, Loikaw and Monywa, the Union Minister added.

The meeting continued with discussions by Deputy Minister U Aung Tun Khaing, Director General of Social Welfare Department, members of the Committee and concerned officials. This meeting made 9 decisions to work for women’s development.
