Shootout In Mandalay: Security Forces And Terrorists Exchange Fire

Acting on a tip-off that there’re some terrorists along with arms and ammunition to carry out bombing in Mandalay, security forces raided a house at the corner of the 111th and 54th streets in Chanmyathazi Township of Mandalay Region at about 7:30 am on 22nd June.

There, the terrorists started to attack the security forces with grenades and small firearms, and, the security forces returned fire.  The shootout left some members of the security forces seriously injured and 4 terrorists dead. 8 terrorists were arrested along with hand-made mines, grenades and some small firearms.

Meanwhile, security forces were attacked by small firearms on a white Pajero. The security forces chased down the vehicle Pajero, which hit the transformer at the corner of the 110th and 56th streets. The vehicle was seized along with 4 dead terrorists. We will update more news relating the shootout.
