Inspection Tour: Union Minister Inspected No (2) Steel Mill (Pin Pat)

Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than and Chairman of Myanma Economic Corporation Lt. Gen. Nyo Saw arrived at No (2) Steel Mill (Pin Pat), Taunggyi Township, Shan State on 19th June, the head officer of the mill clarified the construction works of the mill, works to be done and the administrative facts and deputy minister and managing director supplemented matters on the project.  

Regarding with the clarifications, the union minister instructed to conduct preparation works for the resuming of mill, the collective efforts of all need to put for the completion of the mill as soon as possible as the project works have been completed at 98.6%.

Next, the union minister inspected the iron mineral viewpoint, the status of completing installation of machine equipments at the Primary Sizing Area, Secondary Sizing Area, Lime and Dolomite Plant, Romelt Plant Area in detail factory by factory and coordinated to specify the standardizations for the quality control of pig iron and finished products.

When the No (2) Steel Mill (Pin Pat) is completed, 200,000 tons of Pig Iron can be sold a year and the factories operating for iron and steel products and the development of SME will be enabled to provide and the socio-economic development of local residents and advance technological transferring will be facilitated. In the afternoon on June 20, the union minister and Lt. Gen. Nyo Saw inspected the work implementations in the horse breeding farm in Heho, it’s learnt.
