Coordination Meeting: Coordination Meeting On COVID-19 Prevention And Control Held

The coordination meeting on COVID-19 prevention and control was held at the ministry of health and sports, Nay Pyi Taw via Video Conferencing in the morning on June 15.

At the meeting, the union minister for health and sports Dr. Thet Khaing Win said that the COVID-19 infection is rising at the world and in the neighboring countries.

The rising of infection at the border regions shared with those countries are being found. According to the geographical position of the country, due to the long border area sharing with those countries, when the infection of new coronavirus variant is rising in those countries, the possibility of infection is also rising in the country.

So, the imposing of quarantine on those who returned from abroad and temporary closure of border gates were carried out since the early of May, 2021. The regions with the high rate of infection are being systematically monitored and the stay-at-home order has been issuing in some townships timely. The COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test Kits, Oxygen cylinders, Oxygen generators, PPE, Pulse oximeter and medicines including antibiotics, medical equipments, patient beds and motor vehicles are being provided.

The preparations of hospitals, treatment centers and quarantine centers in the regions, states are needed with the cooperation of regional authorities to be ready if the infection is rising.

The treatment teams from the regions and states need to draw the plans and guidlines to give systematic treatment and care depending on the severence of the disease and prepare necessaries to be ready with the coordination of regional authorities and volunteers. Then, the responsible officials from the regions and states attended the meeting clarified the situation of infections, preparations and requirements, it’s learnt.
