Investment Inspection: Union Minister Makes Inspection in Magway Region

Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, Vice-Chairman of Myanmar Investment Commission U Aung Naing Oo met with members of Magway Region Administration Council and Magway Region Investment Committee on Friday.

In the meeting at the office of Magway Region Administration Council’s meeting room, the Union Minister urged the Region Investment Committee to monitor the permitted investments to adhere to the Myanmar Investment Laws, Rules and procedures and to facilitate investments in accordance with the Myanmar Investment Laws, Rules and procedures. He called for efforts to get more investment in the manufacturing and agricultural and livestock sectors and to scrutinize proposals in a timely manner.

Attendees discussed investment matters in the Region, plans and cooperation with ministries for investment promotion.

The Union Minister also visited the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration, made an inspection, held talks with staff and fulfilled requirements. The Union Minister also visited the solar power generation site by GEP (Myanmar) Co., Ltd which is foreign investment and heard report on matters including the project plan. This 4-year solar power project in Min Hla Kyin Village of Minbu (Saku) Township began in 2018 and is now generating 40 Mega Watts a day. Upon completion, the project will be able to distribute electricity to Magway Region and Rakhine State fully along with 1,000 jobs.

Also, the Union Minister visited Man Thida concrete pole and sale business of Kyaw and Than Co., Ltd in KanYay Village-tract, heard the report and fulfilled requirements.
