The U.S. Coast Guard offloaded more than 11,000 pounds of cocaine in San Diego on Wednesday. Coast Guard officials say the drugs are worth an estimated $220 million dollars. The drugs were seized in international waters during U.S. Coast Guard interdictions of drug smuggling vessels off the coasts of Mexico, Central and South America in the Eastern Pacific Ocean during the months of April and May, according to a U.S. Coast Guard statement. The U.S. Southern Command increased counter-narcotics operations in April in the Western Hemisphere to disrupt the flow of drugs.
