Chile began on Sunday evening the closing of the voting tables that for two days received ballots on a historic election where they were electing 155 people to draft a constitution to replace one that has governed it since being imposed during a military dictatorship. The second day of voting on Sunday began slowly, and although it was later speeded up, it appears that it will not reach the bar imposed by the plebiscite in October.

There were 1,278 applicants for the 155 seats of the convention, of which more than 60% are independent who apply in pacts with traditional parties or individually. The election will also decide mayoral and gubernatorial posts across the country.
