Bengaluru runs out of vaccines amid vaccination drive

Health workers in vaccination centres in Bengaluru city have been forced to turn people away due to a lack of vaccines. One vaccination centre in the city, which is formerly known as Bangalore, completely suspended vaccinations for those aged 18-44-years-old.

The state of Karnataka is also grappling with a shortage of oxygen supplies, with oxygen cylinders being sent from other states in the country via the railway network. Buses are being used as makeshift centres for COVID-19 patients to get oxygen. Karnataka has reported 41,779 new cases with 373 deaths in the past 24 hours.

Overall, India reported 326,098 new confirmed cases and 3,890 deaths in the past 24 hours.
