UEC Announcement: Union Election Commission Issued An Announcement

The Union Election Commission (UEC) issued its announcement on 5th February. It stated that the legislative procedures of all Hluttaws and Leading Bodies have been suspended since 1st February 2021, the date that the Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar has declared the State of Emergency in accord with Section 417 of the Constitution (2008) and transferred the legislative, executive and judicial powers of the State to the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services in accordance with Section 418 in order to take necessary action.

The newly formed UEC is currently making necessary investigation process concerning the voter fraud during 2020 multi-party general election. That is why, the recognition certificates as Hluttaw Representatives for respective Hluttaws, have no more effect during the investigation process for the voter fraud.
