



Plans are underway to allow pilgrims at Shwe Oo Min Natural Cave pagoda and Kolon Hsin Kyaung Temple in line with the instructions of COVID-19 guidelines
The preparation measures are being undertaken at the venues, situated at Danu Self-Administered Zone in Pindaya Township of Shan State South.
The Chairman of the Pindaya Township Level Central Committee on Prevention, Control and Treatment of COVID-19 measure and Township administrator, departmental officials and medial officers met with the Pagoda Board of Trustees on Thursday.
Medical Officer, Department of Public Health, Pindaya Township, Dr. Moe Moe Kyi said “Pindaya Township is not included in the stay at home program in Shan State. Most of the Buddhist devotees want to pay homage to the pagodas. So, we are now arranging necessary preparation measures according to the instructions of Covid-19 guideline. Shwe Umin Cave is 490-ft long and it is one sided cave. So, the ventilation system is not good enough. We checked the capacity of the pilgrim numbers, entrance gate, stairways, elevator and set up for medical screening.”
Plans have been made to allow the visitors in group by teaming up with 30 to 20 persons.
Medical Officer, Department of Public Health, Pinday Township, Dr. Moe Moe Kyi said “Konlon Hsin Kyaung Temple is the place where the remain of Konlon Sayadaw is being kept. It will allow 20 people a group to pay homage to the Sayadaw. It is also arranged social distancing system for the entrance and exist gates. It also arranged emergency room and ambulances by preparing level-2, level-3 PPE, and hot line numbers.”
After the inspection has been made, submission will be made to the Shan State Government for scrutinizing for necessary preparations. Once the permission was granted, the pagoda and temple will be re-open for the pilgrims from 6 am to 10 am in the morning and 3 pm to 5pm in the evening.
