Israel on Monday said that medical staff have vaccinated more than 1.3 million people against COVID-19, more than a tenth of its population. With a vaccination compound in Tel Aviv and a drive-through vaccine center in the northern City of Haifa, the country is rolling out one of the world's earliest and most rapid inoculation campaigns.

According to Our World in Data, a collaboration between researchers at the University of Oxford and the non-profit group Global Change Data Lab, Israel is leading the world in per capita vaccinations. Israel is currently in its third nationwide lockdown in response to surge in coronavirus cases. It has reported more than 442,000 cases and at least 3,433 deaths since the pandemic began.
