Activists rally in DC to pressure Biden on climate

Activists from a number of progressive groups on climate change rallied outside the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee in Washington. The groups are pushing President-elect Joe Biden to uphold his commitments on climate change, including his cabinet choices as he begins his administration. Biden has pledged to rejoin the Paris climate accord, along with making historic investments in clean energy, plus climate research and innovation.

Thursday's rally comes as the Trump administration is working to push through dozens of environmental rollbacks that could weaken century-old protections for migratory birds, expand Arctic drilling and hamstring future regulation of public health threats. The pending changes deepen the challenges for President-elect Joe Biden, who made restoring and advancing protections for the environment, climate and public health.
