Croatia reports highest new daily virus infections

Croatia has reported the highest number of daily new infections with the coronavirus since the start of the outbreak.

The health authorities on Wednesday said that 358 people had tested positive in the past 24 hours. So far, over 8,000 people have been infected in Croatia, while 175 have died in the country of 4.2 million. A recent spike in infections in Croatia has sent tens of thousands of tourists hurrying back home to avoid announced restrictive measures upon their return. Authorities have limited gatherings and nightclubs while restoring some restrictive measures in parts of the country after numbers continued to rise.
