Local and international tourists are once again able to visit the Ponderosa Adventure Park in western Costa Rica. More than 300 animals of 13 different species wander the 100-hectare park, though visitors have to abide by new sanitary measures due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Ponderosa Adventure Park boasts more than 300 animals of 13 different species, mainly of African origin.

It is now again attracting local and international visitors as the country reopens its borders to tourism. Costa Rica closed its borders to foreign visitors in March, but reopened this month for flights from the European Union, the United Kingdom and Canada, although all international visitors must have a negative COVID-19 test and travel insurance.
