Christmas lights shine bright along Paris' Champs-Elysees avenue

Paris Mayor flipped the switch and lit up the Champs-Elysées on Sunday evening, kickstarting the Holiday season along one of the world's most famous avenues. Hundreds of Parisians, tourists and shoppers swarmed the main road which was cut off to traffic to enjoy the festive atmosphere. The Christmas lights will shine every evening until January 8. They'll stay lit the entire nights of December 24 and 31.
