Marking the 18th anniversary of September 11th attack

An American flag was unfurled on the west side of the Pentagon on Wednesday to mark the 18th  Anniversary of the September 11th attack on the U.S.

The day after the attack, with the Pentagon still smouldering, a flag was draped by firefighters from the same spot. Nearly 3,000 people were killed when hijacked jetliners crashed into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and a field in Pennsylvania on September 11, 2001.
