Youth Peace Forum : Leading Committee held its meeting in Nay Pyi Taw

Leading Committee for Organizing the Youth Peace Forum held its meeting in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday, with the attendance of Union Minister for Border Affairs and Ethnic Affairs and Committee Chairman Lt-Gen Yar Pyae.

Speaking at the meeting, the Committee Chairman said next generation youths play vital role in building a developed country and holding Youth Peace Forum could help them to participate in implementing the peace processes.

He stressed that more than half of the population are youths, and thus, discussions will be made on ideas and critical thinking of youths concerning with peace process. Secretary of the Committee Lt-Gen Min Naing later made clarifications on holding of Youth Peace Forum as well as preparations and cooperation matters.

The attendees reported on future work plans and the Committee Chairman delivered concluding remarks. Aiming to build peaceful nation with balance participation of youths from different background within the country, plans are underway to hold Youth Peace Forum 2026.

The forum will serve as a platform for youths to share their views, to build mutual trust, to explore their role in promoting social harmony and to create balance and inclusive environment.
