Yoon visits Itaewon memorial to victims of crush

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol paid his respects on Tuesday at a makeshift memorial near the site of a deadly crowd surge in Seoul.

At the memorial near where the disaster happened, Yoon placed flowers and bowed deeply. More than 150 people including 26 foreigners died during Halloween festivities in the South Korean capital on Saturday.

The crowd surge was concentrated in a sloped, narrow alley in Seoul's Itaewon neighborhood, a popular nightlife district.
