YGN Investment Committee: YGN Region Investment Committee held its 8th meeting

The Yangon Region Investment Committee held its 8th meeting of 2025 at the committee's office in Yankin Township on August 27.

The meeting was attended by the Chairman of Yangon Region Investment Committee, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, and other committee members and special invitees.

First, Chief Minister U Soe Thein and officials inspected a display of product samples from investors' businesses.

Following the inspection, Chief Minister U Soe Thein gave a speech.

The committee then approved eight investment projects including one 100% Myanmar-citizen-owned investment in the hotel and tourism sector, two 100% Myanmar-citizen-owned investments in the industrial sector, four 100% foreign investments, and one joint-venture foreign investment.

The total capital for the approved investments is 9.466 billion kyats and 7.095 million USD. These projects are expected to create 5,002 domestic jobs.

During the meeting, the committee also discussed and decided on proposals from 24 companies, including those for increasing investment capital and for hiring an additional 2,000 domestic employees.
