Xi Meets Nauruan President

Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Nauru President David Adeang in Beijing on Monday.

At the meeting, Xi called visiting David a good friend from the South Pacific region and the two leaders signed a cooperation agreement that supports the Belt and Road economic initiative.  At the invitation of Xi, David is paying a state visit to China from 24th to 29th March. It is the first state visit by the Nauruan president since the resumption of diplomatic ties between the two countries in January.
