World Sight Day: Eye care and treatment provided in Thar Wut Hti

Marking the World Sight Day, the conducting eye examination and giving treatment on the ground by the department of public health under the Ministry of Health was carried out at Tharwuthti station hospital in Lewe Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council Area at 9 AM on October 21st and was attended by the Union Minister for Health Professor Dr. Thet Khaing Win, deputy minister Professor Dr. Aye Tun, directors general, deputy directors general, directors and officials.

The Union Minister and party viewed the eye examinations conducted by the eye specialists for the local people from Thar Wut Hti and neighboring villages, gave eye glasses for the visually impaired patients to put on, provided medical assistance regarding with the disease and met and comforted the patients. The patients who need eye operation will be provided operation treatment in free of charge at 200-bed Pyinmana hospital and eye specialist hospital in Nay Pyi Taw.

By carrying out the conducting eye examination and giving treatment on the ground marking the World Sight Day, it’s aimed at making known by the public about the eye care services provided by the ministry of health and mitigation and eradication of blindness for the people who suffer the fixable visually impairment.

Similarly, the conducting eye examination and giving treatment on the ground marking the World Sight Day was carried out in Mawlamyaing Township of Mon State, Bago Township of Bago Region, Sint Kaing Township of Mandalay Region during second and third week of October 2022, it’s learnt.
