









A ceremony to commemorate the 152nd World Post Day was held at the Ministry of Digital Development and Communications in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday. Union Minister U Mya Tun Oo attended the ceremony and deliverd remarks.
The Union Minister highlighted the purpose of the ceremony which is to honor Universal Postal Union and postal service personnel and workers. Underlining the theme “One Postal Network, Infinite Possibilities”, the Union Minister urged on improving and expansion of Myanmar’s postal network in accordance with the vision “Myanmar Post for Everyone”.
The Union Minister emphasized on better and effective service provision of Myanmar’s biggest postal network which connects over 800 post offices across nation and effective application of digital technologies to successfully integrate into international markets.
He further urged the Posts and Telecommunications Department, Myanmar Post, and postal service providers to continuously monitor and study the development strategies and agreements adopted at the 28th Universal Postal Congress, as well as international developments in the postal sector and technological advancements.
He also stressed to continue their efforts to strengthen the postal sector of Myanmar. Following this, a video message delivered by the Director General of the Univeral Postal Union Headquarter was screened, along with commemorative videos marking World Post Day.
Then, the Union Minister presented honorary awards to the winners of 55th Youth International Letter Writing Competition for aged 9 to 15 years (National Level). After the ceremony, the Union Minister and party made a tour to commemorative exhibitions, showcasing the historical development and evolution of postal services over the years.
