World Ozone Day:Yangon Region CM attends commemorative ceremony

The ceremony commemorating the 2026 World Ozone Day was held on September 16 in Thaketa Township, Yangon Region, under the theme "Global Action for A Cooler Planet."

The event was attended by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu and officials. First, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu delivered the opening speech. Following this, the Chief Minister presented awards to the students who won prizes in the high school-level essay competition commemorating the World Ozone Day 2026.

Afterwards, a video reading of UN Secretary-General Mr. António Guterres's message for the World Ozone Day 2026 and an educational video marking the occasion were displayed. Later, Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu and officials toured and observed the World Ozone Day 2026 commemorative exhibition booth.
