


Union Minister for Commerce Dr Pwint Hsan attended the commemoration ceremony for the World Intellectual Property Day on Tuesday.
The Union Minister discussed that in implementing the three economic objectives, laid down by the State Administration Council, effective prevention on the intellectual properties could help develop more investments and job opportunities.
Production will be boosted by transfering the high-techs, and more innovations could be achieved in literature, arts and industrial sectors through the benefit sharing between the innovators and consumers. The Union Minister called for cooperation of all concerned persons in preventing the intellectual property rights so as to encourage the young generation to make more innovations.
Winners of the poem, poster and cartoon contests in commemoration the World IP Day was also awarded and the composer and musicians for the commemorative song were also presented with the honorary awards. Myanmar started commemorates the World Intellectual Property Day in 2013, and this years marked the 8th time.
The Ministry of Commerce hosted the commemoration ceremony for the first time this year. The theme of this year World IP Day is “IP and Youth; Innovating for A Better Future”.
