World Immunization Week: AYA Region CM delivered the opening speech

The ceremony for World Immunization Week 2026 was held on April 28 at the Ayar Shwe Wa Hall in Pathein. The event was attended by Region Chief Minister U Aye Kyaw, who delivered the opening address.

During his speech, the Chief Minister highlighted that the main goal of this commemorative event is to raise awareness that immunization can prevent illness and death from vaccine-preventable diseases for all people, regardless of age, race, or religion. He urged relevant officials to strive for greater public awareness regarding the benefits of vaccination and to encourage more active participation and assistance in immunization activities from all responsible stakeholders.

Following that, the Region Chief Minister and guests viewed a documentary titled "Protecting Every Generation: The Power of Vaccines" and a music video commemorating World Immunization Week 2026 under the same theme.

Afterward, the Region Chief Minister and his wife, along with other officials, observed the administration of vaccines to pregnant women and young children. They also presented commemorative gifts to the children and prenatal vitamins to the expectant mothers.
