World Environment Day 2022:Tree-Planting Ceremonies under theme “Only One Earth”

To commemorate the World Environment Day 2022 which falls on the 5th of May, a total of 1,000 Yay Padaung and Mango trees were planted in designated places at Lisu Literature and Culture compound in Putao Township of Kachin State.

Also, a tree-planting ceremony was held in Taikkyi Township of Yangon Region and the officials planted a total of 1,007 perennial and shady tree saplings including teak, ironwood, Mahogany, Padauk and Manjansha in designated places.

Likewise, a tree-planting ceremony was held in Myaungmya District, Ayeyawaddy Region.

Moreover, talk shows on environmental awareness organized by community centre under the Information and Public Relations Department were held in Pobbathiri Township in Nay Pyi Taw and Hlegu Township in Yangon to mark the World Environment Day.

This year, theme of the World Environment Day is “Only One Earth” with focus on “living sustainably in harmony with nature”.
