Working Visit: Tatarstan President toured Nay Pyi Taw

The visiting Tatarstan President Mr Rustam Nurgaliyevich Minnikhanov visited Uppatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday.

The visiting President and party paid homage to the jade Buddha images in the pagoda’s hollow cave and made donations. They also visited the white elephant garden before proceeding to the construction site of Maravijaya Buddha Image in Dekkhinathiri Township.

The officials explained the curving and building the Maravijaya Buddha Image using modern CNC machines, step-by-step exploration and conveyance of marble rocks and efforts of the Senior General to seek the guidance of State Ovadacariya Sayadaws as well as the work processes to publish the Tri Pitaka treatises in the Romanized Language with the use of modern machines and other construction processes of religious buildings with the architectural works of the Yadanabon era.

The visiting President and party later inspected the curving processes of Buddha Image. They then visited the Myanmar Gems Museum (Nay Pyi Taw), and viewed the displays of jade, gems, pearl, gold and silverware and natural resource items.
